Do I get a discount if I buy more than one Buddy?
Each additional Buddy will be $119.99 (so $20 off). Discount will automatically reflect in cart.
Do I need one Buddy per child?
Yes. Buddy is designed for one child per device. Each Buddy is linked to one child's profile, Routines, Rewards, wake-up settings, and preferences, creating a strong sense of ownership and independence. Kids can make it their own with a custom avatar and a silicone case in a color they love. The moment you add multiple kids to one device, the simplicity that makes Buddy work goes away.
What age is Buddy designed for?
Buddy works best for children building independence — typically ages 4–10. Older kids may still benefit, especially if they like tracking goals, streaks, and rewards.
Does Buddy require a subscription?
No. Buddy works out of the box with core features included. A subscription unlocks additional motivating experiences like rewards, timers, nudges, and other exciting features coming soon. We'll always clearly outline which features are included and which require a subscription before you purchase. One Buddy Plus subscription also covers all Buddy devices in your household — you're not paying per device.
What if I already have Calendar Plus?
If you purchase Buddy and subscribe to Calendar Plus in 2026, Buddy Plus features are included at no extra charge and there's no need to start an additional subscription. This applies whether you're a longtime Calendar Plus subscriber or signing up for the first time. Buddy Plus features stay included as long as your Calendar Plus subscription remains active. In the future, Buddy Plus will be a separate subscription for new subscribers.
How durable is Buddy?
Buddy was designed with kids in mind. It features a sturdy build that helps it handle everyday bumps, knocks, and enthusiastic use. For added protection, you can buy a colorful silicone case — they fit snugly around Buddy and protect it from typical wear.
Can Buddy be wall mounted?
Buddy cannot be wall mounted. It is designed to sit on a surface like a nightstand or a desk.
Do I need to have a Skylight Calendar to use Buddy?
Nope. Buddy is a complete device on its own. Routines, chores, wake-up alarms, and all core features work right out of the box, no Calendar required. Already have a Skylight Calendar? Even better. Buddy connects to the same app, and your child's profile, photo, tasks, and rewards sync over automatically so setup takes seconds.
What is the difference between Skylight Buddy and Skylight Calendar?
Skylight Buddy was designed specifically for kids to help them navigate their daily chores and routines. Skylight Calendar keeps the whole family on track. It's a central hub with color-coded family schedules, lists, meal plans, and more.
Does Buddy require a separate app?
No! Buddy is set up and managed through the free Skylight app — the same one used for Skylight Calendar. If you're already a Skylight Calendar family, there's nothing new to download.
If I sync Buddy to my Skylight Calendar, will events appear on Buddy?
Buddy does not support calendar events. Buddy syncs tasks and routines from the Skylight app. For the full family schedule, your Skylight Calendar is the place to go.
Does Buddy have a camera or microphone?
No!
Is Buddy safe for kids' bedrooms?
Yes. It features a sturdy build that helps it handle everyday bumps, knocks, and enthusiastic use, and Skylight also protects your family's information with strict data privacy guidelines.
Can the screen turn off at night?
Yes! Buddy's screen can either turn off at night or transition to a clock screensaver.
Can my child access the internet or other apps via Buddy?
No! Buddy is a purpose-built routine device, not a general tablet. Buddy does not include internet browsing, YouTube, social media, or the ability to download any apps.
